PH medical, rescue team safe after quake rocks Turkey anew — OCD

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine medical and rescue team deployed to Turkey is safe  after another earthquake (magnitude 6.4) rocked the ravaged nation.

The 82-man interagency contingent has been sent to the quake-hit country and has been conduct search and rescue operations as well as providing medical assistance since February 9.

“Our team is in good and safe condition as well as our facilities such as the field hospital and base camp, communication is uninterrupted and we are still in contact with the team,” OCD  Joint Information Center head Diego Agustin Mariano said.

The latest earthquake’s epicenter was traced near the southern Turkish city of Antakya and was felt in Syria, Egypt and Lebanon, according to a Reuters report.

Three people were killed and more than 200 injured due to the temblor, the report also said.
