P500,000 bounty for arrest of killer of NZ tourist in Makati — SPD

MANILA, Philippines — The Southern Police District (SPD) on Thursday announced that there is a P500,000 reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest of John Mar Manalo, the main suspect in the robbery and killing in Makati City of a tourist from New Zealand.

Nicholas Peter Stacey, 34, was held up and killed while walking with his Filipina girlfriend in Barangay Palanan several days ago.

“Mayroon po siyang reward na kalahating milyon, sa sinumang makakapagturo dito sa ating suspek na si John Mar Manalo,” said SPD Director Brigadier General Kirby John Brion Kraft in a press conference.

Kraft said the reward money was offered by a  concerned citizen.

Kraft said Manalo was positively identified by four witnesses including Stacey’s girlfriend.

Aside from the said incident, Manalo has a pending warrant of arrest for robbery lodged before the Regional Trial Court Branch 12 of Malolos City, Bulacan, according to Kraft.
