COVID-19 caseload below 100 for 2 days
The country’s daily COVID-19 caseload has stayed below 100 for two straight days, according to the Department of Health (DOH). Latest figures from the COVID-19 tracker, 86 fresh infections were recorded on Wednesday, slightly up from 82 new cases recorded the previous day. These positive cases, however, were only those confirmed through reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction tests whose results are reflected in the official tally. Self-administered COVID test kits, which are cheaper and more accessible, are not included in the DOH count. Active cases, the majority of which have mild symptoms, stood at 9,203. Since Jan. 29, active cases have been below the 10,000 level. —KATHLEEN DE VILLA
