Motorcyclist dies in Masbate road mishap

Over 100 aftershocks were reported after the magnitude six earthquake in Masbate on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

LEGAZPI CITY— A 39-year-old motorcycle driver was killed after he was hit by a truck in Uson town, Masbate province on Thursday (March 2), police said.

The Uson Municipal Police Station identified the victims as Lino Rombais, a farmer and a resident of Barangay (village) Paguihaman in Uson.

An initial investigation showed that Rombais was on his way to a nearby village when he accidentally rammed into the left front wheel of the approaching mixer truck driven by Judy Oliva, 38, of Barangay Narangasan in Milagros town around 4 p.m.

Rombais sustained multiple injuries. which caused his instant death. He was later taken to a funeral home, investigators added.
