MANILA, Philippines 鈥� Although it remained at a low level, the seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila increased from 1.8 to 2.1 percent between March 1 and March 8, the Octa Research Group said Friday.
Octa Research fellow Guido David, in a social media post, noted that despite the uptick in the positivity rate, it remained below five percent, which is the World Health Organization鈥檚 threshold indicating containment of the coronavirus.
NCR 7-day positivity rate increased from 1.8% as of March 1 to 2.1% as of March 8, 2023. The positivity rate remained LOW, below 5%.

The Department of Health reported on Thursday 162 fresh COVID-19 infections, bringing the total number of active cases across the country to 9,017.
The COVID-19 death toll in the Philippines now stands at 66,188 with 12 new deaths recorded.
