Pagasa: ‘Amihan’ to affect parts of Luzon, LPA to bring scattered rains in VisMin

MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Luzon will experience cloudy skies brought by the northeast monsoon or “amihan,” while scattered rains will affect parts of Visayas and Mindanao, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.

Based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa) morning weather forecast, the LPA was last seen 265 kilometers east northeast of Davao City. At the same time, the northeast monsoon continues to affect the eastern part of Luzon.

(The LPA will dissipate today or tomorrow, which means it has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. However, it is expected to bring rain in parts of Mindanao and Central and Eastern Visayas tomorrow.)

(Conversely, parts of Luzon will experience scattered rain due to the northeast monsoon.)

No gale warning has been raised in any of the country’s coastal waters, Badrina furthered.
