BACOLOD CITY — Government officials of Negros Occidental launched the return of the Panaad sa Negros Festival at the Provincial Capitol Park and Lagoon on Tuesday afternoon, March 14.

The launching of the 27th edition the of the “festival of all festivals” with the theme, “The Promise Renewed”, included the presentation of its logo and theme song and the sashing of the 28 Lin-ay sang Negros candidates.

The festival was halted for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s Panaad sa Negros Festival is scheduled at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, on April 17 to 23.

“Today, after three years of hiatus, we are once again ready to celebrate the Panaad sa Negros Festival, and we are extremely grateful that through God’s favor and grace, the time has allowed us to gather today for the launching of our most awaited festival,” Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said.

Lacson, who was joined by Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, the provincial board members and mayors at the launching, said the festival commemorates Negros Occidental’s resilience, perseverance, hope, and faith after what its people went through for the past three years.

“I am confident, that our Panaad 2023 will be a huge success and will mark the revival of better and brighter days for our people and province,” he added.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz also attended the official launching, and Panaad Executive Director Cheryl Decena,

Panaad will be a week of festivities, culture, and arts and will showcase the very best of Negros Occidental, Decena said.
