NCRPO to train personnel to maximize police presence, assist barangays

MANILA, Philippines — Personnel of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will undergo training and immersion programs to strengthen the police presence and assist barangays in ensuring the safety and security of the metropolis.

NCRPO chief, Police Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo led the opening ceremony of the Revitalized Pulis Sa Barangay (R-PSB) course on Friday at the unit’s Hinirang Multi-Purpose Hall, in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

According to NCRPO, the seven-day training would “equip the 240 participants from the five police districts and Regional Mobile Force Battalion of the NCRPO with the knowledge, skills, and values required of a Revitalized-Pulis sa Barangay operative” to help local government units minimize service delivery gaps.

“This undertaking aims to assist the Barangay Local Government Units in their implementation capacity and overall service delivery consistent with the PNP’s vision to ensure a safer place to live, work, and do business,” it said in a statement.

Okubo said that the R-PSB is a six-month immersion program that will help personnel understand the functions of PNP’s partner national agencies to address the issues within their respective government services and communities.

He encouraged participants to give their best service to the police force and avoid involvement in illegal activities.
