Shabu worth over P500,000 confiscated in Puerto Galera bust
CITY OF CALAPAN — Operatives confiscated shabu (crystal meth) worth more than P500,000 during a buy-bust operation Friday in Puerto Galera town in Oriental Mindoro province, according to a March 18 report of the Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) police.
Personnel from Puerto Galera police, Mimaropa’s drug enforcement unit, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Mimaropa arrested at 4:45 p.m. Carlo Magno Sison, 48, and Abdullah Kua Tengkal, 38, after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer for P1,000 in Barangay Villaflor.
Seized from the suspects were 12 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 83 grams valued at P564,400.
Sison, a resident of Roxas town in Oriental Mindoro, and Tengkal of Taguig City, are under police custody and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
