MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Monday said all its personnel and stations would be on heightened alert from March 31 to April 10 to ensure the public’s and motorists’ safety during the Holy Week and summer break.

According to LTO chief Jay Art Tugade, their “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa and Summer Vacation 2023” will focus on overall road safety, including roadworthiness inspections of public utility vehicles (PUVs) and inspections on land transport terminals.

He then warned that the LTO will strictly enforce its mandate under Republic Act 4136 or the “Land Transportation and Traffic Code” and will not hesitate to apprehend motorists violating the rules.
