Pagasa: Take caution to avoid heat exhaustion as temperature in PH rising

MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau on Tuesday urged the public to be more cautious as temperatures are seen to rise all over the country.

“Kapansin-pansin po na tumataas ang ating temperatura kaya’t pinapag-ingat po natin ang ‘yung mga kababayan natin na lalabas ng katanghalian,” according to Samuel Duran, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

(The rise of temperature is noticeable which is why we urge the public to take caution when going outside especially at noon.)

“Iwasan po ang direktang sikat ng araw sa atin, dahil possible po tayong makaranas ng heat exhaustion o heat cramps,” Duran added.

  • Metro Manila: 24 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay City: 22 to 32 degrees Celcius
  • Baguio City: 16 to 26 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City: 24 to 32 degrees Celcius
  • Legazpi City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tugegarao City: 24 to 35 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius

Visayas

  • Cebu: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo: 27 to 32 degrees Celsius

Mindanao

  • Zamboanga City: 25 to 35 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan de Oro: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius

Tuesday weather
While hot weather persists, Pagasa also said there are chances of rains in some parts of the country.

Due to shearline, Batanes and Babuyan Islands are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are set to have fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
