OLONGAPO CITY鈥擜 farmer in San Marcelino town, Zambales province has severed ties with the communist rebels after surrendering to authorities, police said Thursday, April 20.
In a report, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) identified the rebel as 鈥淜a Julie,鈥� a former member of the Sangay Yunit Guerilla/Provincial Yunit Guerilla under the Bagong Hukbong Bayan.
The PRO3 said the rebel group operates in Zambales.
Ka Julie also turned over a .38 caliber revolver, live ammunition, and a hand grenade.
According to PRO3, two other former rebels surrendered to the government on the same day in Angeles City and Floridablanca, both in Pampanga province.
