COVID-19 positivity rate in PH rises to 12.9%
MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 positivity rate nationwide has climbed to 12.9 percent, according to OCTA Research fellow Guido David.
David said the positivity rate in the country increased to 12.9 percent from 11.7 percent recorded last April 25.
“[There is a] 12.9 percent nationwide positivity rate. Projecting 800-1000 new cases on April 27,” David posted on his social media account on Wednesday evening.

Based on the recent data from the Department of Health (DOH), David said there were 506 new COVID-19 cases across the country on April 26. Of that number, 197 cases were reported in Metro Manila, 35 in Rizal, and 29 in Laguna.
David added that Metro Manila’s seven-day positivity rate went up to 12.3 percent from 10.6 percent recorded also on April 25.
With 506 new cases, DOH said the nationwide tally has risen to 4,090,215 with 4,446 active cases.
