4 held in Bicol drug buy-busts

LEGAZPI CITY β€” Four suspected drug personalities were arrested in separate buy-bust operations on Thursday, April 27, in the Bicol region.

In Naga City in Camarines Sur, Ferdinand Ponte, 39, and Mark Joseph Oliva, 30, were arrested at 6:45 p.m. for selling a sachet of β€œshabu” (crystal meth) worth P500 in Barangay San Felipe.

The police recovered four more sachets of shabu from the suspects, Senior Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said in a report.

A total of 1.5 grams of shabu worth P10,200 were confiscated from the suspects.

In Legazpi City in Albay, Susan Borromeo, 54, was collared at 4:25 p.m. for selling a sachet of shabu worth P4,500 in Barangay Penaranda.

Lieutenant Colonel Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, reported that the authorities recovered eight more sachets of shabu during a body search on the suspect.

In Sorsogon City in Sorsogon province, Regie Groyon, 20, was also arrested around 12:30 p.m. for selling a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 in Barangay Sirangan, East District.

Shabu worth P2,040 was confiscated from Groyon, who was tagged as a newly identified drug personality.

They were in the custody of the police for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
