17 Malaysians working in ‘poor conditions’ rescued
MANILA, Philippines — Police rescued on Friday 17 Malaysians working under allegedly poor working conditions for a company in Cavite province.
In a report on Saturday, police officers led by the intelligence division of the and the rescued the Malaysians who were all employed by Klaire One Corp., a real estate company based in the municipality of Kawit, at around 10:30 p.m. on Friday.
The rescued Malaysian workers sought assistance from authorities due to their poor working conditions at the job site and have expressed their desire to resign from the company, the Philippine National Police said in its report.
The rescued Malaysians were turned over to Supt. Norazman Hassan Basari, police attache of the Royal Malaysian Police, at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.
