Manila, Philippines鈥揟he National Unity Party reaffirmed its commitment to the supermajority coalition in the House of Representatives, led by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.
鈥淲e vow to continue working in close partnership with Speaker Romualdez, whose leadership and work ethic moved the legislative mill round the clock, producing an unprecedented number of priority bills passed on third and final reading in less than a year in office,鈥 said Ronaldo Puno, chairman of the National Unity Party.
Puno acknowledged Romualdez鈥檚 leadership in a Friday statement and highlighted the House鈥檚 progress in passing key reform measures.
鈥淲e are witness to how Speaker Romualdez has steered the House in legislating key reform measures included in the 8-Point Socio-Economic Agenda of the Marcos administration,鈥 Puno commented.
Former Senate President Vicente 鈥淭ito鈥 Sotto, the National People鈥檚 Coalition chairman, also expressed their continued alliance with Romualdez.
鈥淲e remain allied with the President and the leadership of Speaker Martin,鈥 Sotto said.
Deputy Speaker Kristine Singson and Representative Michael John 鈥楯ack鈥 Duavit said they recognized the achievements made by the government in pandemic recovery and economic progress.
鈥淲e continue and remain committed to be part of Speaker Romualdez鈥檚 supermajority coalition in the House of Representatives to better the Philippines鈥 standing on poverty alleviation and job generation,鈥 Singson and Duavit said in a joint statement.
