152 pass electrical engineer, technician licensure exam in Middle East, S’pore
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 152 applicants passed the Middle East and Singapore special professional licensure examinations (SPLE) for registered electrical engineers and electrical technicians in April, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced.
PRC said on Tuesday that 20 out of 142 electrical engineers passed the exam, while 132 out of 188 passed the SPLE for technicians.
According to PRC, the test was taken in exam centers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Al Ahmadi, Kuwait; Al-Khobar, Jeddah and Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Doha, Qatar; Manama, Bahrain, and Singapore.
The Board of Electrical Engineering members Engr. Francis V. Mapile, Chairman and Engr. Jaime V. Mendoza gave the licensure exam.
Meanwhile, 17 out of 101 passed the SPLE for electronics engineers, and 16 out of 54 passed the test for electronics technicians.

Article continues after this advertisementPRC said successful examinees should register and sign in to the roster of registered professionals.
“Those who will register are required to bring the following – downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, a notice of admission (for identification only), two pieces passport sized pictures (with color, white background and complete name tag), two sets of documentary stamps and one piece of short brown envelope,” it said.

SPLE “is a measure of enhancing the employability and competitiveness of qualified overseas Filipino workers as it would greatly boost their edge in the labor market,” which started in 1997, said PRC.
Its administration spares Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle East and Hong Kong from “expensive travel expenses and rigorous travel permits from employers and host countries,” it added.
