CHISINAU 鈥� Serbia needs to stop its activities aimed at destabilizing Kosovo in order to end the violence in the north of the country, Kosovo鈥檚 president Vjosa Osmani said on Thursday.
鈥淭he challenge comes from Serbia, a country that still needs to come to terms with its past,鈥� Osmani told Reuters on the sidelines of a European summit in Moldova.
鈥淭he situation is tense, but we need to make sure that we restore rule of law in Kosovo and understand that the threat is coming from Serbia鈥檚 denial of Kosovo鈥檚 existence as a sovereign state.鈥�
Osmani said Serbia was actively supporting 鈥渋llegal structures鈥� in Kosovo to destabilize the country from within.
鈥淧resident Vucic needs to stop supporting criminal gangs if he truly wants peace,鈥� she said. 鈥淗e is yet to show that.鈥�
