Mall staff, tenants join fire drill
MORE than 300 mall personnel and tenants participated in the fire and evacuation drill organized by SM City Cebu on March 2012.
The Bureau of Fire in Cebu City headed by Fire Marshal Aderson Comar evaluated the drill.
Participants were trained on fire alarm and evacuation signals, their duties in the event of an emergency, evacuation routes, areas of refuge, exterior assembly areas and procedures for evacuation.
SM City Cebu also formed teams for disaster response, namely first aid and medical team, communications team, firefighting team and rescue and evacuation team.
SM Supermalls conducts an annual fire safety orientation and evacuation drill in all its malls nationwide as part of its continuous efforts to ensure the safety of shoppers and employees.
