Average daily COVID-19 cases fall by 20%

New COVID-19 cases continued to drop while health-care utilization rates remained at low risk, according to the latest case bulletin from the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH on Monday said the average detected daily cases fell further by 20 percent from 492 to 392 cases.

Last week, 2,747 individuals tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, including 32 who were severely or critically sick.

Two people died of COVID-19 last month, raising the official death toll to 66,484 out of 4.16 million confirmed cases since the outbreak of the highly contagious respiratory disease in 2020.

Intensive care unit (ICU) beds and non-ICU beds for COVID-19 patients were 13.7 percent and 17.7 percent occupied, respectively, according to the DOH.

The DOH said 3,283 patients were admitted due to COVID-19, including 442 patients who were in serious or critical condition.
