MANILA, Philippines — A power outage will affect parts of Quezon City on Sunday, July 9, the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced.
In an advisory, the electric firm said this scheduled power interruption is due to the relocation of facilities affected by the Department of Public Works and Highways’ road widening project along Col. Bonny Serrano, 8th and 10th Aves. in Barangays San Roque and Socorro in Quezon City.
The power outage time, according to Meralco, will be between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on July 9. Areas and establishments that will be affected are as follows:
- Portion of Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue from EDSA Northbound Lane to 20th Avenue, including 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th, and 19th Avenues
- Portion of 20th Avenue from Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue to D. Silang Street including Kalantiaw Street in Barangay San Roque
- Portion of J.P. Rizal Street from P. Rizal Street to and including The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints;
- Kalantiaw and P. Pelaez Streets in Barangays Bayanian, Masagana, San Roque, and Villa Ma. Clara
- Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo High School
- Philippine Veterans Bank
- AFP Retirement and Separation Benefits System
- AFP General Insurance Corporation
- Air Materiel Wing Savings and Loan Association Inc.
- Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association Inc. in Barangay Camp Aguinaldo
