MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) revealed on Wednesday morning that a woman had been reported dead in Rizal as heavy rainfall brought about by Typhoon Egay triggered a flash flood in the province.
In a revised report released to reporters, the NDRRMC said it is validating the information it received about the death of the unidentified woman in Cardona town due to the typhoon.
“On 24 July 2023, heavy rains were experienced, which caused a flash flood. One person was reported dead after she fell down the creek and was caught by the strong current. The victim was found dead the next day on the grassy portion of the rice field beside the creek,” the NDRRMC explained.
