MANILA, Philippines 鈥 Members of Sangunniang Kabataan (SK) should make better use of their time by participating in relief efforts in the wake of the destruction left behind by Typhoon Egay (international name: Doksuri), Kabataan party-list Rep. Raoul Manuel said in an online briefing.
Manuel said.
(Because of the strong typhoon in the country, I urge our fellow public servants in SK to swiftly act and help the victims of Typhoon Egay in their communities.)
Manuel added.
(It is not true that the youth knows nothing but TikTok and play lato-lato, so let鈥檚 show that the spirit of bayanihan is still alive.)
Manuel also pointed out that the National Youth Commission should release the draft implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of the Republic Act 11768 to enable SK officials to fulfill their mandate.
RA 11768 is the act that amends certain sections of the SK Reform Act of 2015.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has reported at least five typhoon-related deaths and the displacement of over 300,000 individuals in various parts of the country.听 (with reports from Kirsten Segui)
