MANILA, Philippines – The state weather bureau said that it had detected a tropical depression (TD) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), but it is not expected to enter nor affect the country.

In its Tuesday weather update, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Grace Castañeda said the TD east northeast of extreme northern Luzon has no effect in the country.

In a separate weather forecast, Pagasa said the TD had maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph), with a gustiness of up to 70 kph. It remained ‘almost stationary’ from its position outside the PAR.
