PNP rolls out educational assistance to 23 dependents of fallen cops
MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-three dependents of police officers killed in line of duty have received educational assistance from the Philippine National Police, according to PNP public information office chief Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Maranan said the dependents were granted the assistance at the Meridian Innovation Center in Pasay City last August 19.
Under PNP’s Bayaning Pulis Foundation Educational Assistance Program, tuition and school supplies will be granted to the fallen police officers’ children in a bid to alleviate their financial burdens.
“Today, we stand together to honor the memory of our brave officers who paid the ultimate price in service to our country. Through this educational assistance program, we aim to provide a bright future for their children as a tribute to their sacrifice,” PNP Deputy Director General for Administration Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia said.
Aside from the families of the fallen police officers, the awarding ceremony was also attended by representatives from the PNP-Bayaning Pulis Foundation and high-ranking officials.
