Coast Guard rescues 2 Romblon fishermen

 MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued two fishermen after their vessel’s engine conked out off San Agustin, Romblon.

In a statement on Monday, the PCG said the engine of the motorbanca owned by Bryan Madeja and Ronie Panuga malfunctioned at around 3:00 p.m. some  1.5 nautical miles off Barangay Sugod.

This prompted their relatives to seek help at around 4:12 pm. 

Both fishermen were successfully rescued and their boat towed to the shoreline of Barangay Bagacay in Romblon, Romblon.

“The said fishermen were in good physical condition and subsequently turned over to their respective families with the intention of fixing their engine the following day,” the PCG said.
