Cloudy skies, rain due in parts of PH due to LPA, typhoon off PAR
MANILA, Philippines — Rain showers are expected in many parts of the country due to a low pressure area (LPA) and a typhoon (international name: Bolaven) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the said on Tuesday.
Typhoon Bolaven was sighted some 2,300 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon, while the LPA was tracked some 1,285 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao.
“Ang low pressure area ay maaaring maging isang ganap na trough na lang ni Bolaven at magdadala pa rin ng malawakang pag-ulan sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa within the next two to three days,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather forecaster Chenel Dominguez said.
(The low pressure area may become a trough of Typhoon Bolaven, which will trigger rains in many parts of the country in the next two to three days.)
“Asahan natin dito sa Palawan, Bicol region, kabuuan ng Visayas at Mindanao na magiging maulap ang panahon na may kasamang kalat-kalat na pag-ulan,” Dominguez added.
(Cloudy skies and scattered rain showers are expected in Palawan, Bicol region, the Visayas and Mindanao.)
