Marcos vows to help AFP become a ‘world-class force’
MANILA, Philippines — The Marcos administration will continue to help the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) become a “world-class force,” President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Monday during the traditional dinner for the AFP Council of Sergeants Major in Malacañang.
“Rest assured that we will remain steadfast in transforming and modernizing the AFP into a world-class force that is respected by its counterparts and is a source of national pride,” Marcos said in his speech.
“Keep up the good work, know that this administration and the entire country are behind you as you fulfill your duties to our nation.”

Article continues after this advertisementThe event took place to mark the 27th Noncommissioned Officers Week and the 54th founding anniversary of the Office of the AFP Sergeant Major, which is headed by First Chief Master Sergeant Feliciano Lazo.
Article continues after this advertisement“As the most senior, most experienced, and most seasoned among our enlisted personnel, you help in implementing plans and strategies on the ground,” Marcos said.
“I am confident that our sergeants major will continue to learn new skills, acquire more knowledge, and enhance their competence to fully realize the Armed Forces’ objectives.”
