Nat’l youth science festival starts

The Philippine International Convention Center Forum Tent in Pasay City buzzed with youthful energy as the curtains lifted for the grand inauguration of the National Youth, Science, Technology and Innovation Festival (NYSTIF) on Wednesday.

The event, inaugurated by Sen. Francis Tolentino, has drawn comparisons to the prestigious Aspen Ideas Festival in Aspen, Colorado, known for its annual gathering of thought leaders, innovators and visionaries.

The second day on Oct. 26 of NYSTIF kicked off with the Youth Innovation Program, a platform designed to showcase the diverse projects of young minds by providing crucial financial support towards research.

Among the standout projects were from Team LigniFloc and Team ChitoPacks from PSHS-Central Luzon Campus, Team Crunchlets from Quezon City Science High School, Team SalmMarlex from PSHS-Main Campus, Team PACMAN from Vinzons Pilot High School, Team Fifth of Ace from UP High School in Iloilo, Team Aerogel from Jacinto P. Elpa National High School and Team Spark from Angeles University Foundation Integrated School.—Russel Loreto
