MANILA, Philippines 鈥 Two Filipino women were prevented from leaving their country for supposed jobs in Paris after they confessed to agents of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) the illegal online recruitment they went through to work overseas.

A BI report said the two women were about to board their flight at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3 via AirAsia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia when they were intercepted by BI agents.

They initially claimed to be officemates in an information technology networking company and presented documents to support such claims.

鈥淭hey, however, eventually confessed that the employment documents they presented were spurious and were only given to them by their recruiters whom they only met on Facebook,鈥 the BI said.
