P100,000 reward offered for info on killers of radio broadcaster Jumalon
MANILA, Philippines — A P100,000 reward awaits anyone who has credible information that could lead to the identification and arrest of those behind the killing of radio broadcaster Juan Jumalon in Misamis Occidental on Nov. 5.
“In the wake of the senseless killing of Juan “Johnny Walker” T. Jumalon of 94.7 Calamba Gold FM in Misamis Occidental, a reward of P100,000.00 is promised to anyone who can step forward with information that will lead to the apprehension of the suspects.” the Presidential Task Force on Media Security announced in a Facebook post on Monday evening.
The task force said it could be reached at this number: 0920-816-5478.
Earlier on Monday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) released a computerized facial sketch of a man believed to have served as a lookout near the gate of Jumalon’s home.

Police described the man as of medium build, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 6 inches in height, and weighing around 70 kilograms. It added that the suspect was wearing a red cap, green shirt, and black shorts as captured in the CCTV footage.
Article continues after this advertisementBased on a previous report, the 57-year-old radioman was shot by a still unknown assailant while on-air over Misamis Occidental’s Gold FM 94.7 in Calamba town around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday.
CCTV footage from Jumalon’s home showed that two gun-toting men were able to enter the house through the garage. Jumalon’s radio station was also in his house.

The officer in charge of the Calamba Municipal Police Station, Captain Diore Libre Ragonio, said three “persons of interest” — including the two who entered the gate and a lookout — have been identified.
