NDRRMC reports damage after 6.8 earthquake off Sarangani

MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said that there was damage following the magnitude 6.8 earthquake off Sarangani, Davao Occidental.

“We’re still waiting for a complete report on that [damage],” NDRRMC deputy spokesperson Mark Timbal told in a phone interview.

Timbal noted that several government buildings sustained damage after the quake.

The tectonic quake occurred 30 kilometers southwest of the said area at 4:14 pm and had a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
