NDRRMC reports damage after 6.8 earthquake off Sarangani
MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said that there was damage following the magnitude 6.8 earthquake off Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
“We’re still waiting for a complete report on that [damage],” NDRRMC deputy spokesperson Mark Timbal told 黑料社 in a phone interview.
Timbal noted that several government buildings sustained damage after the quake.

The tectonic quake occurred 30 kilometers southwest of the said area at 4:14 pm and had a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs initially pegged the quake at Magnitude 7.2.

Damages and aftershocks are expected, but no tsunami warning was raised, according to Phivolcs.
