Magnitude 5.2 earthquake hits Calbiga, Samar

Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology says a magnitude 5.6 earthquake hit Calbiga, Samar on Monday, November 20, 2023. (Map courtesy of Phivolcs)

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.2 earthquake hit Calbiga, Samar on Monday, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

It was initially reported by Phivolcs as a magnitude 5.6 tremor.

The quake occurred at 12:57 p.m. and was tectonic in origin.
