Pasig City Hall operations halted for Nov 23 following mid-morning fire
MANILA, Philippines – Operations in Pasig City Hall were suspended Thursday after a fire erupted on the fourth floor of the building.
In a Facebook post, the Pasig City Public Information Office (PIO) said the fire started at 9:18 a.m., prompting the local government unit to evacuate employees and visitors from city hall.
The fire reached the first alarm before it was extinguished at 9:26 a.m., the Bureau of Fire Protection said.
But a dense layer of smoke shrouded the building as of 10 a.m.
“Kaugnay nito, SUSPENDED na ang operations ng City Hall simula 10:00 A.M. November 23, 2023. Ang mga non-essential personnel ay pinayuhan nang umuwi, at ang mga essential personnel para sa pag-manage ng insidente na lamang ang required na manatili sa City Hall,” the Pasig City PIO said.

As of this posting, it was not clear if city hall operations will resume on Friday, November 24.
