Authorities arrest motorist who sideswiped rider, passenger on Edsa

A driver, who reportedly sideswiped and injured a motorcycle rider and his passenger along the southbound lane of Edsa-Ortigas, has been arrested and is facing an attempted murder complaint, police said on Thursday.

In a report, the Mandaluyong City Police Station said the unnamed victims on board a motorcycle sustained injuries after being thrown off when their motorcycle was struck by a red hatchback car in Barangay Wack Wack around 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday.

PCG reports oil spill from sunken Vietnamese vessel in Palawan

An oil spill ensued after a Vietnamese vessel sank off Balabac, Palawan on Tuesday, November 21, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

PCG said the Vietnamese-flagged vessel Viet Hai Star carried 29,000 liters of automotive diesel oil and 4,000 metric tons of rice when it partially went under. The ship was en route to Cagayan de Oro City.
