INQToday: NSC greenlights Christmas convoy to WPS but BRP Sierra Madre still off limits

Opposition senator Risa Hontiveros on Tuesday filed a resolution urging Malacañang to cooperate with the International Criminal Court (ICC) and accommodate the international tribunal’s bid to start its investigation of the human rights situation in the country.

The National Security Council (NSC) finally green lighted on Tuesday the civilian-led Christmas convoy to the West Philippine Sea, allowing them to pass through the general vicinity of Ayungin (Second Thomas) Shoal.

However, the NSC did not allow the convoy to reach the BRP Sierra Madre, according to its spokesperson Jonathan Malaya.
