MANILA, Philippines 鈥斅燭he Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said on Sunday that there was no damage to the airports that it operates in Mindanao following a magnitude 7.4 earthquake that hit off the coast of Hinatuan in Surigao del Sur on Saturday.
In a statement, CAAP said that 鈥渙nly minor damages鈥 were detected at the following airports based on the initial report from CAAP Area 12 Manager Evangeline Daba:
- Butuan Airport
- Surigao Airport
- Siargao Airport
- Tandag Airport
- Bislig Airport
Meanwhile, only a few wall tiles that fell off in the international arrival elevator area of Davao International Airport were recorded by CAAP Area 11 Manager Rex Obcena.

CAAP added that the passengers and duty personnel are also all safe and sound.

鈥淭he Quick Response Team of all other airports in Mindanao are continuously conducting runway and passenger terminal building inspections to ensure that possible damages are located and repaired accordingly,鈥 CAAP鈥檚 statement read.
鈥淔light operations on both Area 11 and 12 airports are currently on normal status,鈥 it added.
