MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo de Manila University topped the law schools in the 2023 Bar Examination with over 100 candidates getting a 93.18 percent passing rate.

Following Ateneo is San Beda University with a 90.07% passing rate, while the University of the Philippines got 88.35%, and the University of San Carlos with 83.89 %.
Included in the top five schools is the University of Santo Tomas (UST), with a 72.39 percent passing rate.
The top one for the 2023 Bar Exam comes from UST.
These five schools bested 32 law schools with more than 100 hopefuls.
Meanwhile, out of 23 law schools with 51 to 100 examinees, the top one is the Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a 75.86 % passing rate, followed by the University of Cebu with a rating of 73.61%.
Xavier University-Ateneo De Cagayan got a 68.00% passing rate, while Saint Louis University and the University of Mindanao got 61.04 % and 47.27 % passing rates, respectively.
Out of 10,387 hopefuls, only 36.77 percent or 3,812 hurdled the exam.
The passing percentage for the 2023 Bar Examination is lower compared to the two previous Bar examinations — 43.47 percent in 2022 and 72.28 percent for the 2020/2021 Bar exam, known as the #BestBarEver.
