MANILA, Philippines — Most parts of the country, including Metro Manila, will have generally warm weather this Saturday due to the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

According to the weather bureau, the temperature in the National Capital Region may reach up to 31 degrees Celsius.

“Patuloy pa rin pong umiiral ang easterlies, or yung mainit na hangin galing sa Pacific Ocean, at ito pa rin po ang nagdadala ng mainit na panahon, plus mga pulo-pulong pag-ulan lamang,” weather specialist Benison Estareja reported in their morning weather forecast.

Along with localized thunderstorms, Pagasa forecast that the country, except the extreme northern Luzon, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms because of the said weather system.

Pagasa noted that flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau said Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the weak northeast monsoon.

Estareja also said that Pagasa is currently not monitoring any tropical depression and none is expected to affect the country in the next few days.

No gale warning was raised in any part of the country, but waves in Northern Luzon may reach up to three meters—which is risky for small boats, he added.
