MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Friday that it has assisted an estimated 1,900 trafficking victims in 2023.

According to DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, victims of trafficking are assisted through the department’s Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons.

“This program underscores the DSWD’s unwavering commitment to the recovery and reintegration of victims and survivors of trafficking, as well as in the protection of their rights and promotion of their well-being,” Dumlao said.
