2 riders dead in motorcycle-van collision in Tagaytay City

LUCENA CITY — Two motorcycle riders died after their vehicle collided with a van in Tagaytay City in Cavite province on Saturday, Jan. 6.

The Police Region 4A police in a report Sunday, Jan. 7, said a motorcycle with a back-rider were negotiating a section of the by-pass road in Barangay Zambal around 4 p.m. when they accidentally hit the left portion of a Toyota Hiace Commuter van driven by a certain “Junoel.”

Both riders sustained grave injuries and died while being taken to De La Salle Dr. Rodolfo Poblete Memorial Hospital in neighboring Alfonso town.

In a phone interview, a Tagaytay City policeman identified the motorcycle driver as alias “Reny” while his back-rider as “Panfilo.” The investigator did not provide further information.
