President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the launching of the Department of Social Welfare and Development鈥檚 (DSWD) new disaster response command center (DRCC) and a project that will focus on a resilient and proactive approach when it comes to disaster management.
The new DRCC, which was inaugurated by Marcos and Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian, will be operational 24/7.
The President was the guest honor during the 73rd founding anniversary of the DSWD, where he commended social workers as 鈥渉eroes and angels鈥� who 鈥渨alk and work.鈥�

The command center will be a 鈥渃entral hub鈥� for the government鈥檚 disaster monitoring, reporting and coordination of preparedness and response efforts.
It will be equipped with advanced information and communication assets to ensure 鈥渟eamless collaboration鈥� between the DSWD鈥檚 central office, its field offices in the regions, other member-agencies of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and other stakeholders. 鈥擠EMPSEY REYES
