Marcos tells gov’t agencies to support PH hosting of Asian Age Group games
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered all government agencies to support the country’s hosting of the 11th Asian Age Group Championship, according to the Palace on Friday.
The Asian Age Group Championship is an international swimming competition with competitors coming from all over the continent.
“All government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or -controlled corporations, are hereby directed, and the private sector is encouraged, to extend full support and necessary assistance towards the successful hosting of the 11th Asian Age Group Championships in the Philippines,” said Memorandum Circular No. 43.
“The hosting of said championship event in the Philippines will bring international prestige, publicity, goodwill, and economic benefits to the country,” it added.
The memorandum was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin on January 17 but released to the media on Friday.
According to the Palace, the competition will be held from February 26 to March 9 at the New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas City, Tarlac.
