COTABATO CITY – Police authorities in Lanao del Sur arrested on Thursday three alleged drug peddlers during an anti-drug operation in Tugaya town and seized over P1 million worth of meth.
Brig. Gen. Allan Nobleza, police director of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), said the three suspects agreed to sell illegal drugs to an undercover agent in Barangay Sugod Mawatan.
“They are considered high-value targets,” Nobleza said of the suspects who also yielded a caliber .45 pistol, buy-bust money and other paraphernalia for using meth.
“A brief firefight ensued between the suspects and the operating units but eventually led to the arrest of the suspects,” Nobleza said.

He said the police team seized about 160 grams of shabu estimated to cost P1,087,320.
“I would like to commend civilian informants who provided us information leading to the successful anti-drug operation,” Nobleza said, assuring they will remain anonymous.
“Rest assured of continuous and intensified anti-drug campaign to rid BARMM of illegal drugs,” he added.
Now detained at Lanao Sur police provincial office in Marawi City, the suspects are facing charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
