PULILAN, Bulacan, Philippines — A 42-year-old man from Rizal province suffered injuries in a shooting incident on Sunday, Feb. 4, along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) in this town.

Colonel Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, said Aries Magayanes, a resident of Barangay Pag-asa in Rizal’s Binangonan town, was driving his Nissan Terra SUV along the southbound lane of NLEx in Barangay Dampol 2nd in this town at 4:35 p.m. when an unidentified armed man aboard an unknown vehicle fired shots at him.

As a result, Magayanes’ car collided with the steel side railings on the emergency shoulder of the highway.

Colonel Jerome Jay Ragonton, Pulilan police chief, said Magayanes had come from Ilocos Sur.

Viray then reported the incident to Pulilan police.

Magayanes was taken to the Bulacan Medical Center in the City of Malolos for medical treatment.

Ragonton said the victim was later transferred to a hospital in Manila and was in a stable condition.
