BI bars 2 sex offenders

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday said that two American sex offenders were recently intercepted and denied entry to the country.

According to the BI, Nathan Woodward, 56, arrived in the country on January 27, 2024 from Los Angeles.

The BI said he was convicted by a Nevada court in 1990 for sexual misconduct against a minor.

According to BI official Joseph Cueto, Woodward was sent back to Los Angeles on the same day.

“He was immediately issued an exclusion order and boarded on the next available PAL flight to Los Angeles that very same day,” Cueto said.

On February 5, American national Bennison Flores also arrived from San Francisco, and was subsequently barred entry.

Flores was listed in the California State Registry for child sexual abuse, the immigration bureau said.
