Two pedestrians died after they were hit in separate road accidents in Batangas province

A head-on collision between two motorcycles left both riders dead early Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024 in an accident in Santo Tomas City, Batangas province. INQUIRER FILES

LUCENA CITY – The Police Region 4A in a spot report said the motorcycles driven by Jonel Gardoña, 33, and Esmeraldo Nadong, 58, both coming from the opposite direction accidentally collided head-on along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay (village) Santa Anastacia around 4:15 a.m. They were taken to Laurel District Hospital in the locality but they died along the way from grave injuries. READ: 2 pedestrians dead in Batangas road accidents Santo Tomas police said both riders were wearing crash helmets when the incident happened. Investigators were still looking for closed-circuit television cameras at the accident site to determine who was at fault in the collision.
