LUCENA CITY — A fire of still unknown origin broke out Sunday afternoon, Feb. 11, in Lipa City, Batangas province, razing eight houses, police said.
The Police Region 4A said in a report that the blaze erupted at 2:20 p.m. in Barangay Bugtong na Pulo and was put out 45 minutes later.
A resident was injured during the fire that gutted houses made of light materials.
The fire left 12 families homeless, according to the city disaster management office.

The victims were transferred to an evacuation center where local social workers are attending to them.
Firemen were still conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze. INQ
