BuCor allows CIW inmates to visit kin at Bilibid on V-Day

MANILA, Philippines – On Valentine’s Day, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) facilitated a heartwarming reunion, granting 60 inmates from the Correctional Institute for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City the opportunity to visit their incarcerated loved ones at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.

With the theme “Kiss Sabay Hug,” BuCor Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. said it is their way of showing that the PDLs are being well taken cared of.

“In the spirit of Valentines’ Day, CIW persons deprived of liberty with relatives at the NBP were ferried by buses courtesy of BuCor to celebrate this special day,” Catapang said.

The CIW PDLs were ferried by BuCor buses to the Bilibid facility.

The PDLs , however, will only be allowed to chat and share a meal at the visitor’s lounge.

After the visit, they will be brought back to CIW.
