AFP wants to end insurgency within 2024

The Armed Forces of the Philippines will focus on ending within the year the country鈥檚 armed insurgency problem, as ordered by President Marcos, as the government transitions to external defense.

During an online briefing with the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict on Wednesday, AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said the military would 鈥渞eally pursue the elimination鈥 of all 11 remaining weakened guerrilla fronts with about 1,500 fighters nationwide as ordered by Mr. Marcos in January.
